Cleveland Public Library | Main Library Renovations
Cleveland, Ohio
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
AMHigley recently served as Construction Manager at Risk on the Phase II Main Library Consolidation master plan to implement space efficiency and better serve the library’s clients. The project elevated the “front-door” visitor experience, leveraged library space as venues for community use, created collaborative learning spaces that support emerging services, implemented a comprehensive wayfinding system, and updated MEP infrastructure.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
- The project utilized shift work to accommodate, and avoid disruption to, the Library’s opening operations
- Completed full preconstruction services with multiple estimates, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Returned $150K in GMP savings throughout the course of the project so that the Library could include additional improvement work within the building
- Following project completion, AMHigley and the same project staff members, were awarded another renovation project at the Cleveland Public Library South (Tremont) Branch
