Cleveland, OH
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
AMHigley recently served as Construction Manager at Risk on the new St. Martin de Porres High School, adjacent to the existing high school. The project scope involved abatement, partial demolition, and historic preservation of an existing, historic building that the new school ties into. The 3-story school is a state-of-the-art facility that enhances interdisciplinary project-based learning communities. The school was designed to ensure that students are fully prepared for what they will experience in college and eventual workplaces.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
- Completed removal of hazardous materials, decommissioning of public streets, and utility relocations while the existing campus maintained full operations
- Overcame unknown conditions including historic structural remediation, unsuitable soils, and culvert issues without adding schedule time.
- Directing construction traffic through and around the existing, fully occupied school campus to ensure safety for students
- Project was designed for a LEED® Gold Certification
